These are the terms for using Sine, the ear-training app, and this website. Sine is made by MAOI LLC. By using the app you agree to them. They are short on purpose.
You may install Sine on devices you own or control and use it for yourself. You may not copy it, resell it, take it apart to get at its code, or use it to build a competing product. Sine, its sounds, its artwork and its mascot belong to MAOI LLC.
You do not need an account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, your progress is stored on our servers so it can follow you between devices. You are responsible for the Apple or Google account you sign in with. You can delete your Sine account at any time: see deleting your account.
Encore is an optional subscription. It is sold and billed by the App Store or Google Play, not by us directly. It renews automatically at the price shown when you subscribed until you cancel it, which you do in your store account's subscription settings, at least a day before the renewal date. A free trial, where one is offered, turns into a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel first. Refunds are handled by the store that took the payment, under its own policy. Deleting the app, or your Sine account, does not cancel a subscription.
Sine is a practice tool. It trains you to recognise notes and chords, and most people get better with regular use, but we do not promise any particular result or how long it will take. It is not medical or professional advice of any kind. Mind your volume, especially on headphones.
We work to keep Sine running and improving, and we may add, change or remove features. The app is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the same extent, MAOI LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from using it, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for Encore in the twelve months before the claim.
If these terms change in a way that matters, the date above changes and the new terms apply from then on. Continuing to use Sine after that means you accept them.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where MAOI LLC is registered. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the consumer law of the place you live. Questions go to hello@learnsine.com.
